I believe this to be a tuning issue on Blizzard’s part, as their intention for Fire cleave is to monitor ignite on a single target and spread that ignite to surrounding targets. The damage of Flame Patch is also fully uncapped, which promotes a degenerate playstyle in dungeons. Hardcasting it in 5+ targets should be optimal, as having a different primary nuke for AoE feels good – but not for 2-5 targets. I’m going to outline some problems I think the spec has currently, and how blizzard can solve them moving forward.ġ: Flame Patch in its current iteration is a degenerate talent. Some of these changes are probably nerfs, but I’d rather have a nerfed version of the spec with more engaging gameplay than an OP version with degenerate gameplay. This is not a thread about the power of the spec. I’m not a FOTM player, I play this spec every patch whether it’s good or bad. A bit of context, I am a long time Fire Mage main.
